1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scandora (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Scandora. You must be at least 16 years old to use this Service.

2. Service Description

Scandora is an AI-powered document scanning application that enables you to:

• Scan documents using your device's camera or connected scanners
• Process documents with AI to extract information automatically
• Sync documents to your cloud services (Trello, Google Drive, etc.)
• Organize and search your document archive

Scandora does not provide cloud storage. You connect your own cloud services to store documents.

3. User Accounts

Account Creation

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion:

• All your personal data will be permanently erased from our systems
• Active subscriptions will be cancelled at the end of the billing period
• Documents stored in your connected cloud services will remain there

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Free Plan

Our free tier includes basic scanning features with usage limits. No payment is required.

Paid Plans

Paid subscriptions (Pro, Business) are billed monthly or annually through:

• Apple App Store (iOS/macOS)
• Google Play Store (Android)

Subscription Terms

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• Manage subscriptions through your App Store or Play Store account
• No refunds for partial subscription periods (subject to app store policies)
• Plan features may change; we'll notify you of material changes

Bring Your Own AI (BYOAI)

You may use your own AI API keys (OpenAI, Google Gemini). You are responsible for:

• All costs associated with your API usage
• Complying with the AI provider's terms of service
• Securing your API keys

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use Scandora to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property or privacy rights of others
• Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Abuse, harass, or harm other users
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our source code
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Circumvent usage limits or security measures

6. Your Content

Ownership: You retain all rights to the documents and content you scan with Scandora.

Responsibility: You are solely responsible for:

• The legality of documents you scan
• Having the right to scan and process those documents
• Backups of your important documents

License: By using our AI processing features, you grant us a limited license to process your documents solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

7. Third-Party Integrations

Scandora integrates with third-party services (Trello, Google Drive, AI providers). Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the availability, functionality, or security of third-party services.

8. Intellectual Property

Scandora and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Scandora and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without explicit written permission.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy of AI-extracted data
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation

AI-processed data should be reviewed for accuracy. Scandora is not liable for errors in AI extraction.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCANDORA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Service interruptions or data loss

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to access the Service immediately ceases
• We may delete your account data
• Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via:

• Email notification to your registered address
• In-app notification
• Update to this page

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Germany, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
