What should a receipt scanner app do?
Three things: capture a receipt before the thermal paper fades, read the numbers off it so you do not type them, and file it where your bookkeeping already lives. A receipt scanner that keeps every receipt locked inside its own app only moves the shoebox onto your phone.
How Scandora scans receipts
Hold your phone camera over the receipt and Scandora finds the edges of the page. A long till receipt or a multi-page invoice becomes one PDF with several pages. When a stack of paper is waiting on your desk, scan it on an office network scanner over eSCL/AirScan instead. Scanning itself works offline; the AI step and the upload need a connection.
What the AI reads off a receipt
Managed AI reads each scan without a template. On a receipt or an invoice it picks out the vendor, the amount, the date and, where they are printed, the invoice number and the IBAN. It also suggests a title and labels and recognises the document type, so a receipt is told apart from an invoice or a contract. Scandora keeps the title, the labels, the gross amount, the invoice number and the invoice date as the document's details, and each of them stays editable. Check the values before you file them: a creased or faded receipt can be misread.
Where your receipts end up
In accounts you already own. Each scan can become a PDF in your own Google Drive, named after its AI title, in a folder called Scandora or in a folder with a name you choose. With "Organize by document type" switched on, receipts land in a subfolder of their own. The same scan can instead become a Trello card with the PDF attached. What leaves your phone, and where it goes
Your original receipts stay on your device and in the storage you choose. To read a receipt, managed AI sends the scanned page to Google Gemini, processed in the EU. While you are signed in, a low-resolution preview, the extracted text and the document's details sync to Scandora's servers in the EU. Scandora carries no ads. The EU servers page goes through every path one by one.
Finding a receipt again at tax time
Months later you rarely remember which folder a receipt went into. Ask Scandora a question about your documents, such as what you paid a supplier in March or when a warranty runs out, and you get an answer that cites the document it came from. Open that receipt and check the figure yourself.
